We know computer settings are confusing…

That’s why we are here to help you understand those settings easily so that you can pass down your knowledge to your families and everyone will think you’re a tech wizard!

Musicology’s Web App operates and relies on Chrome and peoples OS. Because of this, we do not control audio settings that may be defaulted on users computers. BUT that is easy to fix! Here’s how to get started depending on your device.

To set your default output speaker, adjust master volume and fix common sound problems follow these steps:

  1. Open Settings
  2. Click on System
  3. Click on Sound

Using the Choose your output device drop-down menu, you can quickly change the speakers you want to use as the default.

You can also click the Device Properties link, which opens additional speaker settings using the Control Panel experience.

  • General – Enable or disable the speaker and access audio driver information.
  • Levels – Adjust the master volume and balance settings.
  • Advanced – Change the default sample rate and bit depth.
  • Spatial Sound – Includes the options to use Windows 10 spatial sound format, including “Windows Sonic for Headphones” and “Dolby Atmos for Headphones”

Or simply use the speaker icon in the taskbar to change the system master volume with the slider!
